The most prominent environmental change I have seen due to humans is climate change. Growing up in New Orleans Louisiana I never saw snow until moving to North Carolina. I remember when I was younger how many snow days we had off of school. The Christmas I moved here, around 2011 North Carolina had one of the largest snow storms, the streets were closed for days and the snow lasted weeks. As I grow up I notice how less and less it snows. North Carolina is a beautiful state that experiences all of the seasons and landscapes, which makes my family love our state. In current times, I have barely experienced snow that sticks to the ground, nonetheless even occurs. Even all of January and December I have been able to wear shorts outside half of the time I walk to my classes. The weather in North Carolina has changed so drastically and many of my peers have noticed as well. Climate change is due to a multitude of reasons, including; power generation, consumerism, and deforestation to name a few. Since there is a multitude of manmade causes that contribute to the warming of the world, this problem has persisted far too long. Climate change is a central issue in the media and the fact that there is no real solution or urgency means this will be an even grander scale issue for later generations, meaning this environmental issue affects the whole world at large.
